Impromptu No. 1

This piece is dedicated to all my Twitter friends

Earlier in 2011, I'd hoped to write a series of solo works as Christmas gifts to some of the more influential/important people I've met on Twitter. Unfortunately, time ran away from me and I only finished this one. So, even if you don't play the piano, here's to you!

The music is based on a series of prime numbers. While the music has a beat, it defies (for me) the ability to put it into any sense of regular meter. Where is beat one vs beat two, three (four, five...). So, the music is written without bar lines.

This means it's probably a bear for pianists, but then maybe not. It'll be interesting to see what they have to say.
